For this trip to Japan, like previous ones, I have pre-arranged access to the internet. It’s convenient to buy a sim-card at Songshan airport. Before departure, I bought one sim-card for 479 ntd, which is good for accessing internet in wifi-less areas. The total volume available is 2GB, more than I need for using the Google maps or occasional accesses to some other applications such as Facebook or Line.
In Japan, most hotels have free wifi access in the rooms. In addition, free wifi is also available at airports. To my surprise, in this trip I have found that even in the airplane of ANA in domestic flights, free wifi is also provided. Also, in the long-distance Akan bus, free wifi is available.
